We’re bringing the app to a new level this week with iPad support and stats view. We’ve entered the beta phase of the app’s lifecycle. This doesn’t change anything in practice, but affects how we think about the changes we add moving forward.
We’re almost done adding new features - once we are, we’ll focus on improving existing experiences even more (iCloud support across multiple devices, smoothing out friction points, adding better tutorials, fixing bugs) before launch.
These next two weeks we’ll be focused on adding the sheet music reader - which supports annotations, importing, and a lot of the other things your favorite reader app can do. Onto the patch notes!
Beta Patch Notes - Version 0.7.0:
**Big things:**
* [Feature] iPad support - every applet for portrait and landscape views. Download TestFlight on your iPad to download the iPad version! Data sharing across devices is coming soon.
* [Feature] Stats view - in the calendar view, you can now see an interactive practice stats chart. Set the time frame and which stats you want to track! Also supports running totals vs individual values.
**Other things:**
* [Feature] Streak counter on front-page of app with a fun little shimmer
* [Update] "Cancel Session" is now only available for the first minute of the session, then it turns into "End Session"
* [Fix] Tuner got far too sensitive, recalibrated
* [Update] Moved mandatory planning from end of break to beginning of break
* [Change] Temporarily limit audio recording length to 20 minutes due to some performance issues with longer recordings. This is a high priority on our roadmap and will be fixed in the next few weeks.
* [Feature] Add kickstarter notice on startup
* [Remove] Got rid of circles on calendar tiles for days with practice sessions
* [Feature] Display app version at the bottom of settings page

Alpha 0.6.7 - Patch Notes:

Huge patch this week! Check out the new audio player/recorder. Just about every tool got a big overhaul (except the sequencer, that’s coming soon). Here are the details:

General:
* [Update] Menu button has new behavior that minimizes it when you tap on non-layerable applets, minimizes when you tap off of it as well
* [Update] Unified audio session, should fix most issues with audio randomly turning off for metronome or audio/video tool
* [Updated] Updated tutorial

Audio tool:
* [Feature] Add audio player - audio playback! Includes looping, bookmarks, pitch modulation, and scrubbing. Audio files can be moved around, deleted, and watched just like video files.

Practice sessions:
* [Feature] Session 'backup', takes a snapshot of your session every 2s and if app exits without you finishing your session, can restore it from backup
* [Feature] Add 'cancel session' ability

Metronome:
* [Feature] Metronome accent patterns - program patterns into your metronome for strong, weak, and skipped beats

* [Fix] Metronome now has no starting delay when you tap it.
* [Update] Tempo tapper now considers last 3 taps (previously 2), this is now a configurable setting (between 2 and 8)
* [Feature] Accent overlay when metronome is small. Disable in settings
* [Fix] Fixed issue where metronome would play sequencer sounds sometimes
* [Change]: Setting metronome tempo is now done by hard pressing the metronome (rather than double tapping)
* [Change]: Knob on metronome is now a little line rather than a little circle

6/27/24 Changes:
  • [New Feature] Video tool
    • Create folders in video tool, record videos into folders, star/share them
    • Rename folders by tapping name inside the folder
    • Press camera button in menu to quickly record a video and save later
    • Move/delete videos between folders (long-press a video to start selecting)
    • Anything deleted goes to trash, deleting from trash perma-deletes. Trash doesn’t auto-delete
    • Delete folders by left-swiping the folder name in list view
    • Videos watched past 75% are grayed out to indicate being watched
  • [New Feature] Practice Sessions 2.0
    • Start a practice session, enter goals, goals and stats are tracked across the session
    • Prompted at breaks to check in on your goals
    • Once you’re done, hit finish session and you can write reflections
    • After reflection, a PDF is generated and saved to your practice logs
    • Uncompleted goals from a session are saved and can be reloaded in your next session
  • [New Feature] Calendar view
    • Look back at previous practice sessions, can share the practice reports with yourself or others
